GTT: Burger

I ate a burger it was good.

Work was slow because of football but Kiara rocked up and followed me around the shop while I cleaned, and bought me a macaron. And then Mum and Dad rocked up and bought things and I sent them to get me a coffee and they did and it was nice. I also got a cannoli.

DAY 5/5! The end is nigh! And the gods of chiropractic scheduling have smiled down upon us today because we’re halfway through the shift and still running on time! Weeping tears of happiness, we’ve been running at least an hour late for two weeks so this is literally the best thing ever. We also had Arts and Crafts time with my favourite 6 year old twins and now my desk is covered in an array of beautiful drawings. Spirits are up! It’s nearly over! Mere hours before I can go home and relax and sleep like I’ve never slept before oh boy oh boy. I’m so excited I just wanna squeeze Chris Hemsworth’s upper arm.

Why did I scoff those m&ms. I’m sorry, body. I’M SORRYYY. So, fun story, we didn’t realise there was a public holiday on Monday so we booked in patients and now we have to work. I think maybe I’ll rebel and come in wearing a wacky hat or something. Speaking of, GUYS THE ROYAL SHOW IS THIS WEEKEND OMGOMG. The inside of my head right now is a montage of childlike glee.

In conclusion:

GTTW: Plentie.

YO SO I managed to let a whole week pass me by without updating OH NO. But it has been an ace week, pratty mach.

Got over that illin’ quickly enough, Parks and Rec came back and I watched that episode EXACTLY ONCE. A+ restraint, me. Lois’s shindig was excellent, especially notable for the invention of Freak Hallway. The winery on Sunday was really fucking lovely, but I hella vommed when I got home, something I haven’t done before (vomming because of alcohol), so I guess that’s another aspect of my personality that I can eliminate (along with ‘High Achiever’ and ‘Likes school’). Speaking of school this week I sent in a TISC application for Film & Video/Screen Arts/Performance courses at ECU and Curtin so that is a) exciting and b) a $50 expense I didn’t expect to have this week. Movie date with Emily was great success. Finally watched the Planet Earth dvd that I’d had out from Quickflix for TWO WHOLE MONTHS. It was great obvz. Uhm. Lana directed us to a show called Broadway or Bust, which was EXCELLENT. A three-part documentary kinda series about a high school musical theatre competition in New York. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/broadway-or-bust/watch/ Go watch, Lois and anyone else reading who isn’t Aly and Emily. A few more of the shows are back, most notably New Girl. I’m up to s04e06 of Breaking Bad.

This morning I made a toasted sandwich for breakfast so that’s a win. Now I’m going to work and I’m gonna try and get my boots fixed (Mum took them in to get fixed two weeks ago but the new soles flapped off the next time I wore them so UGH I HAVE TO COMPLAIN I DON’T WANT TO UGH I AM NOT THAT GUY. But I get paid today so HURRAY the dolla. Will only be banking enough to cover my accidental spendings account debt, and the rest will be for ROYAL SHOW MOFOS. YEEEAAAAHHHH.

OKAY I THINK WE’RE ALL CAUGHT UP.

GTTLFD: Cleaning.

So, I haven’t felt so great the last two days. On Wednesday I felt more side-effecty-sick than I have in months and then today I started doing that thing where I faint for seemingly no reason. So A+ job me, way to get better. If I can’t go to the Show on Sunday because I might faint I will seriously pee on everything everyone loves.

Onto the good things.

I have been pintastinating since yesterday. It’s excellent waste of time.

Despite feeling sick and being worried I might collapse onto my face, I managed to do yoga today. Well job me. I even held most of my reason guys stand behind girls in class downward dogs, which is a position specifically designed to make you feel like a tool and a failure at the same time.

EDIT: Oh also, I cleaned all the things.

Today has been pretty alright, but it has also been weird. Like I had one situation where someone I keep thinking I like was being a megadouche and I was like, why are we even friends, but then someone I was kind of “eh.” about I had a really good chat with. LIFE, GUYS. It’s complex. I also wonder if people think I am annoying/a megadouche and nobody is saying anything to protect me from being upset. Don’t do that, guys. Spoilers, I would prefer you told me to stop being a dick.

Just in case, you know, for future reference.

I also spent ages cooking last night, which was fun because I have been super sad about never cooking recently, but also like wtf all I was making was a tofu salad and some broccoli and parmesan fritters. Then I had to throw out all the fritters, because they were disgusting. And by the time I had finished frying all of this tofu I was like “ENOUGH I DON’T EVEN WANNA EAT IT ANYMORE” but then I had some leftovers just now, a whole day later, and it was super enjoyable. Verdict: Make Levi cook me this salad always.

I also just want to quit uni because I cannot be bothered writing an essay for the first year unit I’m doing. I have reached new levels of apathy.

You know what I’m not apathetic about though? THE ROYAL SHOW. Because its only the second time I have gone, and also I had to go home early last year because of gozleme-related illness, I still have a nice, healthy dose of childlike excitement about the prospect of being there.

ALSO CAN WE TALK FOR A MU’FU’KIN SECOND ABOUT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS. I went to buy Aly’s at a real, physical shop and they had very rudely sold out so I found it online (win count: 1) but shipping was ridick (loss count: 1) so I found some other shit to buy from the same site for people and then BOOM FREE SHIPPING (win count: 2). Then I found something else and I bought it from THE ENGLANDS and I calculated the price conversion in my head and it seemed reasonable but I was WRONG in my conversion and it was actually LIKE FIVE BUCKS CHEAPER (win count: 3). Then today I was just sitting around at my internship and thought of another actually the best present ever so I came home and purchased it (win count: 4) and oh my god guys I have so much stuff coming in the mail and I’m so excited for everyone to be excited about their gifts because I am normally really bad at present buying but I feel like right now I am just actually excelling.

Update: the shop that sells the “sorry I’m an asshole” balloons also has some sweet gifts, brb going to buy presents forever.

edit: GUYS ITS IN MELBOURNE SO SHIPPING IS TOTES REASONABLE.

edit: SHIT GUYS TARA NEEDS TO GET A CAT AGAIN, PRONTO.

Real talk: When did I start saying “y’all” so much. Real talk, y’all.

Day four and my willpower is fading. I’ve lost sight of the end. I can only hope it will soon be over so I am released from this prison. If you’re reading this, please send help. WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

Lol jk it’s all good.

Exciting update from yesterday: the package wasn’t from ASOS after all. It was a DIFFERENT thing that I’d forgotten about so that was EXTRA fun. Things are always better when they come in the mail. It’s just science.

The mystery of today: Why does this heat pack smell like dinner? Stay tuned.

I’m wearing a bra and a top I forgot I had. WILL THE EXCITEMENT EVER CEASE.

Last night I put together this potato spinach bacon cheese thing and it was delicious. How good are leftovers. So I’ve been watching footage from our trip and it’s so weird, feels like forever ago. The day we saw Book of Mormon and Peter and the Starcatcher was particularly fun to relive. I wanna go back there. Can I go back. Please. WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY BANK ACCOUNT IS EMPTY.

In INJUSTICE news: The US release of The Avengers on blu-ray was yesterday and they got a Joss Whedon commentary. WHICH WE DID NOT GET. WHAT THE HELL. I’m so mad. That’s my secret.

GTT: Not-so day off

We’re on day three of Alysha Works a Normal Work Week and I am POWERING THROUGH with the sheer force of my willpower and this bag of m&ms. I regret the m&ms so much oh my god.

So on Monday I ordered myself a little sneaky treat from ASOS so it would arrive by the end of the week when I DAMN WELL DESERVE IT. But there was a package for me before I left for work today and I don’t know if that’s it or not. Should I cheat and open it when I get home. Yes. Yes I should.

How freaking enthralling is this entry.

I’m reading chronic fatigue blogs and it’s this weird feeling of being in a club, but it’s a really crap club. This club would be improved if we had hoodies.

Can you imagine chronic fatigue camp? It would be so terrible.

ONWARD!

I did yoga again today and felt pretty good. Not feeling so great now but hopefully some sleep will help.

Um. Things.

So I went to the movies today which was fun because you know how often I go to the movies? NOT VERY. Also the film was great and I cried in the Life of Pi trailer and then kind of cried during the film but I didn’t want Nicola to judge me so I didn’t. Anyway go and see Ruby Sparks, I quite liked it. Also there were some good trailers which I would like to go see the relevant films of.

Also I finished my assignment and ate a burger so, life’s goin’ okay. I’m also going to Medicare tomorrow for that sweet, sweet dollar. Aww yeah dollar.

HEY FELLAS. I’m two days into a full work week and already trying not to fall asleep on my keyboard. I GOTTA POWER THROUGH, YO. How do people to it? I need a copy of Normal Life For Dummies.

This weekend was GREAT. Saturday night was Lois’s birthday and we all hung out with pizza and chats and icecream and all sorts (not the liquorice kind). Lois and I DOMINATED at Articulate because we’re super badass. The best part of that game is when people get flustered and say the weirdest things that somehow make perfect sense. Forever referring to a fax as ’emailing a piece of paper’.

Sunday I was up bright and early to have lunch in the Swan Valley for Lana’s birthday. By that I mean we were all off our faces drunk by midday. The wine tasting was great, and the food was AMAZEBALLS. Lana took a bunch of photos on her fancy camera that made everyone look nice, which is a good change. HURR HURR. We then went to a coffee tasting and watched SNL for awhile to sober up. Classy day, basically.

I’ve been keeping myself entertained with bad Discovery channel documentaries about HORRIFYING diseases that take forever to diagnose because doctors are the worst. So that’s been fun. Now whenever I feel like whining, I can instead be thankful that I don’t have a condition which causes my muscles to calcify and turn into bone, eventually leaving me immobile. COOL. Also the Emmys were last night and it was terrible as usual, I don’t know what those voters are thinking seriously. The highlight of the night was Amy Poehler sabotaging Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s acceptance speech, A+ effort from everyone involved.

Flawless Queen.
