GTT: Game face

Today I got out of bed before work AGAIN and had a very successful shopping venture! And I just got a call at work from Mum who found the pair of earrings I was holding last weekend and have been kicking myself for not buying, hooray Mum! Also I’ve been looking for a blazer for a good two years now with no luck, and today I found three 😐 I ended up buying two of them, might go back for the third. So, thanks life! I like to think it’s reward for me waking up early.

Grabbed a boost juice before work and HOLY CRAP, Raspberry Ripe where have you been all my life? It’s the last day of year twelve today so there were schoolkids EVERYWHERE in wacky costumes and signed shirts and they were so LOUD and they travelled in PACKS and I stewed in hatred for awhile. Kids these days amirite.

Tonight I’m going out for a delicious Indian feast, which is my favourite ever, and then this weekend is FULL SPEED AHEAD. Morning wedding ceremony, costume change, reception (priority: taking advantage of free wine and hiding from relatives I don’t know/can’t remember), hopefully sleep, ROYAL SHOOOWWW ALL DAAAAY FUN TIIIMES. It’s gonna be so great. NOT GETTING SICK.

Let’s DO THIS.

I’m not really into this ~getting up in the morning~ thing I’ve been doing this past week, but I’m getting stuff done and hopefully won’t get sick, fingers crossed.

Yesterday I dragged myself to go see Herb (my specialist, who’s name isn’t actually Herb), and whined at him that I was sick AGAIN. What is even up with that? It’s like I have multiple auto-immune diseases or something. Ridiculous. Anyway, he loaded me up with all sorts of fun things like blood tests for more things than I probably have blood for, not one but THREE cleanses (my favourite) that’ll take two months all up, and a bunch of new prescriptions for my priciest meds. So thanks a lot Herb, geez. Hoping something obvious and fixable turns up in the next few weeks so I can get back to kicking ass.

After emptying my bank account of my hard-earned funds, I met Lois and Nicola at the cafe around the corner, which was awesome because there was a horse shaped lamp, with the lampshade ON ITS HEAD. Totally beats my creepy porcelain clown playing the violin lamp, might have to conspire to steal it. We had delicious coffee and then hightailed it to uni for a Jack and the Beanstalk writers meeting. We got quite a bit done, and many outrageous lolz were had, so it was nice. That night Nicola and I made chicky chicky parm parm for dinner and yelled at Glee a lot.

Today I dragged myself down to Whitfords before work (this sort of activity is unprecedented) because I had a DILEMMA. My dress for the wedding is lovely, it’s not really in the colour palette I normally work off, so I didn’t have any fun jewellery to coordinate with. So I went on the search for a few dark silver/black pieces and FAILED MISERABLY. Gonna have to get to Joondalup tomorrow and try again, because this is VERY SERIOUS. In excellent news, the shoes I bought in Italy (in my last week when I’d spent 6 weeks in bed and was all I CAN’T LEAVE THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT SOME GODDAMN SHOES SOMEONE TAKE ME TO A MALL) work perfectly with my dress so YAY ME. This paragraph is really dumb.

In other news, Thursday shifts always throw me off because we’re open for an hour later than usual. LOUD SIGH.

Gif unrelated.

Made it through Busy Weekend #1! Three more to go before I reclaim my lazy bed-fort Saturdays. I BELIEVE.

Friday was Lois’s birthday so we all stormed Grill’d and had a marvellous time. I am very proud to say that I won the Panto Face-Off, and am awaiting my trophy engraved with the faces of Nicolas Cage and John Travolta. We chatted about ALL OF THE TOPICS until the wee hours of the morning and it was rather lovely.

Saturday was MOVING DAY, and I had to do very important things like buy a toaster and a set of wine glasses (the first two things anyone ever needs when moving house) for my bff and her manthing, then I jetted off to their new place to HELP. Such help involved lugging Gemma’s entire wardrobe and impressive shoe collection up the stairs and into the wardrobe (at one point, Gemma dropped a shoebox on my head, which is apparently the thanks I get for my manual labour). We then stood around while the boys put the couch together, and eventually contributed by putting the cushion covers on and then claiming credit for the finished product. We also arranged kitchen appliances and I managed to set the fire alarm off, because that’s just the kind of guy I am. Afterwards, we sat on the couch and watched the boys lift heavy things like washing machines while we nodded with encouragement. Once we had taken things out of boxes (and left the boxes just lying around), our hosts took the team out for some delicious Indian, followed by McFlurries and Riccadonna because we’re classy bitches.

Sunday I got out of bed AGAIN, for last chance wedding outfit shopping with Mum in the city. I was so over expensive schmancy frocks which I would never wear again, so I ended up buying two dresses from Dangerfield, because Dangerfield is amazing and I can never usually justify their prices but it’s for a wedding so it’s okay right? I plan to fancy them up with sparkly jewellery and heels and wear them a lot afterwards, so I am super pleased. We then hung out with the family and I had gnocchi for the first time in two years and it was a magical experience. Also the first edition of the newly reprinted Sailor Moon manga arrived and it is BEAUTIFUL! And TV came back and it was obviously amazing. So all in all, can’t complain.

I’m still on the hunt for a dress to wear to the wedding next week, and yesterday I managed to find two ‘back ups’, and somehow bought two other dresses which have nothing to do with the wedding whatsoever but they were on sale and I couldn’t help it?

Went out for burgers that night with some lovely friends, and afterwards we went on an adventure to late night Big W to buy $10 gift-boxed peanut butter lindt balls, because PEANUT BUTTER LINDT BALLS.

Today I’m just slogging through work until I can go home and curl up in bed; I’m having a tummy day and it is NOT FUN.

Tonight I went out to dinner with my darling bff, who I haven’t seen in AGES because our schedules clash really badly now so we don’t get to go shopping and have coffee every week anymore D: This is why real life responsibilities are stupid. But tonight we REUNITED and feasted on Mexican and regrettable beverages from San Churros, and it was magical.

Here is a picture of our beautiful faces from 2006.

GT… uh, for awhile.

You know what I love? Production week. It’s just so great. I mean sure, this time around it occurred right in the middle of this two-month long tag team virus marathon I seem to have going on right now, so I was sickly and miserable, but it’s still SO GREAT. The cast is filled with more magnificent people than you can poke a stick at, and the fun times are endless. Our show went really well, I’m so proud, and I managed to get two nights filmed so we can relive the genius FOREVAH.

Is it even legal to be this awesome?

In other news, it’s back to the real world, which isn’t all bad! I’m catching up with friends for many dinner dates and epic catch ups. My bff is moving house this weekend with her manthing and I get to help, ie. wear a bandana and be totally useless when it comes to lifting, but my can do attitude and six pack of beers will lift everyone’s spirits! It can’t be that hard right? Isn’t it just a montage with kicky pop music? Should be a hoot.

We’ve got a family (extended- VERY extended) wedding coming up in a couple weeks, so Mum and I are on a mission to buy new dresses. It’s EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and we are currently failing but I have hope. The wedding should be interesting, lots of people we don’t know and can’t remember, but the food should be great.

Other good things! Yesterday I stocked up gluten free deliciousness including things like PIES and spinach and ricotta rolls, I’ve started editing production week footage and getting distracted by our comic genius, got into Pottermore ages ago and was sorted into SLYTHERIN (twice!) which was shocking but I’m starting to enjoy it, ngl. TV is all coming back which makes me so happy! Watching the Emmys tonight on a delayed broadcast so I’ve been avoiding most corners of the internet and lunging at the radio every hour, on the hour, so the news doesn’t spoil me. Award shows are serious business!

Hey remember when I got to surprise Nicola with a pie-in-the-face live on stage? Good times.
